Elatha H. Rabon, age 84, wife of the late Wilson D. Rabon, surrounded by her loving family, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Friday, March 29, 2019.
Mrs. Rabon was born in Aynor a daughter of the late Eddie L. and Flossie Alford Hilburn. She was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church and pre-deceased by a son: Ronald “Rib” Rabon.
Lovingly called “Tator”, she adored spending time with her family, enjoyed cooking delicious meals for all to enjoy, and working in the garden throughout the year. She was extremely proud of her family’s bluegrass gospel group and enjoyed any southern bluegrass gospel music. She was a great listener to all and a stranger to none. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and hard work. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all of the staff at Pruitt Health Conway for their exemplary and professional care given to “Tator” during her time there.
Surviving are two sons: Randolph Rabon(Elizabeth) and Ravenald Rabon all of Aynor; daughter: Rhonda Skipper(Glenn) of Aynor; three sisters: Sally Hyman, Joyce Johnson both of Aynor and Lottie Cook of North Charleston; 7 grandchildren: Jeffery Rabon (April), Jill Rabon, April Owens(Travis), Tracie Rabon, Brian Rabon, Scottie Rabon (Savannah) and Shannon Kipe (Steven); 11 great-grandchildren (Kannon, Skylar, Charleigh Rabon, Tessa Kate and Landon Owens, Sarah and Landon Rabon, Peyton and Ellie Rabon, Layna and Abbi Kipe) ; a special nephew: Mace Carroll; special family member: Lynn Skipper.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm till 2:45pm Sunday at the church.
