Thomas Dorsett Obituary

Mr. Thomas Gray Dorsett, age 92, of Georgetown passed away January 11, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Dorsett was born July 13, 1927, a son of the late Carson and Bessie Hunt Dorsett.  While living in Aynor, SC, Mr. Dorsett attended Red Hill Southern Methodist Church.  He retired from Apac Carolina after 35 years of service.  Mr. Dorsett was a Veteran of the United States Navy, member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, owner of Hurricanes Bar and Grill in Surfside and the Pee Dee Mart in Socastee.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, and one brother.  Mr. Dorsett is survived by his wife of the home, Mrs. Opal Johnson Dorsett, one son, Gregory Dorsett of Thomasville, NC, two step sons, Barry (Joyce) LaFavor of Gresham, Ricky LaFavor of Gresham, SC, one step daughter, Tamela Walter of Georgetown, SC, one brother, Donald Dorsett of Thomasville, NC, four grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.  Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday January 14, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Rawlin Booth officiating.  Burial will follow at Aynor Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from2:00-2:45 PM.
