"Semper Fi…….a Marine to the core" Allan B. Ray passed away peacefully at his home on March 19, 2016 after a full and rewarding life. He was a man who was passionate about his family and his country. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his mother Lucille Campbell, his son, Matthew, and his daughters, Dena, Babette and Gwen. He was predeceased by his father, Lee Ray, his stepfather, James Campbell, his sister, Angie, and his brothers, Terry and James. He was born in 1948 in Louisville, KY to Lucille Campbell and the late Lee Ray. Allan absorbed his sense of pride and respect for his country from his step father, James Campbell. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp with a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for 'outstanding achievement' while serving as squad leader with 'C' Company, First Battalion, Fifth Marines, First Marine Division in Vietnam from January 8 to Dec. 28, 1968. He participated in six major combat operations. Allan Ray repeatedly distinguished himself by his courage under fire. Allan truly lived his life as a dedicated father and husband. All of us who have known and loved him will miss his sense of humor, his independence and his dedication to those he loved.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
