Mrs. Barbara Jean Proffitt, age 71, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020.  Mrs. Barbara was the wife of the late Melvin Proffitt, and daughter of the late William Ralph and Florence Elizabeth Evans Abbott.  Mrs. Proffitt was a member of the Postables and loved spending time with her family.  She loved playing Fantasy Football, enjoyed Nascar, and loved going to the Beach.  Surviving Mrs. Proffitt is one daughter: Melissa Shollenberger of Rock Hill; two sons: Timothy Melvin Proffitt (Kelly) of Lexington and Earl Scott Proffitt (Amanda) of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren: Brandon Proffitt (Sarah), Jesse Shollenberger, Madison Proffitt, Matthew Proffitt, Myles Proffitt, Mason Proffitt, and Will Proffitt; one great grandchild: Thomas Proffitt; and one brother: William Michael Abbott (Rita) of Annville, Kentucky.  A Graveside Service will be held for Mrs. Proffitt on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at 12:30 PM at Southeastern Memorial Gardens in Myrtle Beach, SC. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, proper social distancing practices will be observed.
