Ms. Barbara Staton, age 76, wife of the late John Staton Jr. passed away October 17, 2019 at her residence.  Ms. Staton was born August 27, 1943, a daughter of the late Ruth Etta Tyler.  Ms. Staton was a member of Bakers Chapel Baptist Church. She loved to read, cook, and spend time with family and friends.  Ms. Staton was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield.  She is survived by two sons: Robert Wayne Staton (Sandra) and Gary Alan Staton (Helen) both of Galivants Ferry; one daughter:  Katina Marie Staton Ward (Steven) of Ocean Isle, NC.; 8 grandchildren:  Miranda Staton, Megan Graham, Summer Staton, Amanda Tomes, Gary Staton Jr., Tyler Sellers, Nicolas McRae, and Jonathon McRae; 4 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services for Ms. Staton will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday October 20, 2019 at Bakers Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Todd officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 – 2:45 PM.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
