Mr. Carl W. Shelley Sr., age 86, passed away August 15, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born May 24, 1934, a son of the late James Wright Shelley Sr. and Lillian Sanatha Graham Shelley.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Shelley was predeceased by one son: David Shelley; three brothers: McRoy, J.W., and Edison Shelley; three sisters: Edna Merle Mishoe, Iola Frye, and Elneeda Frye.  He was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served the in many different capacities.  Mr. Shelley is survived by his wife of 67 years:  Mrs. Amaryllis Roberts Shelley of the home; one son: C. Waldon Shelley Jr. (Susan) of Maryville, Tn.; four grandchildren: Beverly Dorman (Michael), Trey Shelley (Britt) all of Aynor; Danielle Renninger (Jeremy), Graham Shelley, all of Maryville, TN.; a special daughter-in-law: Merry Shelley of Aynor; one sister: Shelby Jean Davis of Tulsa, OK.; one sister-in-law: Sara Shelley; and ten great grandchildren.  A graveside service will be held for Mr. Shelley at 11:00 AM, August 18, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Dr. Ray Lundy and Rev. Dean Conner officiating.  Memorials can be made in Mr. Shelley's memory to Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2080 Hwy 129 Galivants Ferry, SC 29544.  Please practice all social distancing guidelines while attending the service.
