Mr. Carlisle Wayne Roberts passed away on August 29, 2026, in Galivants Ferry, SC. Wayne lived a full, meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, service in the US Army, and a career as a Rural Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Judy Johnson Roberts; his father and mother, Archie and Winnie Shelley Roberts; three brothers, Windell Roberts, Lawrence Roberts, and Linnwood Roberts; and two sisters, Ernestine Morris and Gail Cannon. Wayne graduated as valedictorian of his class from Aynor High in 1957 and served in the United States Army in Stuttgart, Germany. He was a member and former president of the Beaver Dam Flats, former president of the Aynor High School Booster Club, coached the Aynor Jaycees championship softball team in 1980, and was a lifelong farmer. Mr. Wayne is survived by one son, Bradley W. Roberts; one daughter, Shelley R. Grainger, and her husband, Charles; two grandchildren, Charles W. Grainger and Daniel Grainger and his wife, Elydia; and four sisters, Doris Hammond, Robbie Bell, Linda Phipps, and Bertie Wood. A memorial service for Mr. Wayne will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends following the service. Private burial will take place at Antioch Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2080 Hwy 129, Galivants Ferry, SC 29544.
