Some people just make the world a better place with the way they care for others. Catherine M. Ivey was one of those special people. We lost her on November 2, 2015 in a fatal car crash near her home in Concord, NC. She was 54. In addition to the heavy hearts of her family and friends, she leaves her son (her pride-and-joy) William Ivey to carry forward her memories, her humor, and her energetic sense of life. Catherine delighted in her role of Mom. Her long career as a nurse in a variety of settings gifted her patients and colleagues with her thoughtfulness. Originally from Ohio, she graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School and attended Mars Hill University on a volleyball scholarship. She earned her bachelor's degree in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina Coastal Carolina. She went on to study nursing at Marion County School of Nursing in SC and was employed in Concord NC by the Carolinas Healthcare System.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE

A celebration of her life is planned for 1:00 PM Saturday, November 14 at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor, 290 9th Aynor, SC 29511.
