Cathy Varela

Mrs. Cathy Varela, age 71, passed away on August 11, 2026, at her residence following an extended illness. Cathy was born May 5, 1955, a daughter of the late Jessie and Alice Duncan. In addition to her parents, Cathy was also predeceased by her sister, Alice Duncan. Cathy Varela was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and a woman who spent her life caring for others. She carried a strong love of family throughout her life. For many years, she opened her heart and home as a daycare provider, caring for children with the same patience, kindness, and love she gave her own family. She found happiness in crafting, traveling, spending time with those she loved, and making everyday moments special. She was the kind of person who always had something to share, a story to tell, or a way to make someone feel cared for. Her greatest joy was her family, and her love will continue to live on through the memories, traditions, and moments she gave them. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. She is survived by her husband, Gregory; her three sons, Daniel (Freida), Dammon (Amanda), and Aaron (Sherry); five grandchildren, Morgan, Nicholas, Dominic, Austin, and Samantha; and two siblings, Horace Duncan and Marilyn Morris. In accordance with Mrs. Cathy's wishes, no services are planned.
