Darlene Anne Dadds, 70, of Galivants Ferry, passed away August 8, 2026 at McLeod Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family after a short illness.
Born in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland to the late Roland Oscar Dadds and Virginia Mae (Ervin) Dadds, she moved as a young girl to Mullins, where she received her education, worked and raised her family. Darlene worked faithfully for 36 years at AVM motors before retiring to enjoy a quiet country life surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed nature and spent her days soaking up the beauty of her own backyard.
She is survived by her soulmate, Randall “Booty” Floyd, with whom she shared a home and endless love. Darlene also leaves behind her daughter, Stephanie Dadds (Christopher), her granddaughter, Ellis Wait of Myrtle Beach; her sister Annette Espinosa of Idaho, her children Shawn and Stacey and their families; her beloved Niece Ryan Dadds of Hawaii; a sister Marshall Dadds of Mullins, her children Winn and Raymond and their families ; a soon-to-be daughter Mindy Floyd (Charlie), their children, Brayden Floyd, Maddie Barnhill, and Taylor Richburg; a soon-to-be sister, Jenny Todd; a trusted and ever-present friend, Diane Singleton; a special “grandbaby”, Macy Mew, her trusted and loved dog, Petey; and a wealth of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Darlene has joined in eternal rest her mother and father, brothers: Roland, Jr., Jay and Thomas Dadds, her beloved friends who have gone on before her, and a handful of pets who surely met her at the rainbow bridge.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, techs, respiratory therapists, doctors, and entire care team in the CCU at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Their loving care and medical expertise made Darlene’s final days peaceful.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience. The family will receive friends and flowers at 290 Zion Road, Galivants Ferry, SC 29544. Darlene spent her life loving and caring for her animals and found a great deal of joy in nature. She believed every home needed a pet. In lieu of flowers, please direct all monetary donations in her memory to the Marion County Animal Shelter 123 Dog and Cat Court Mullins, SC 29574. They can be reached at 843-423-8370.
