Mr. David Marshall Strickland, age 71, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 at his residence.  Mr. Strickland was the husband of the late Willa Betty Strickland and the son of Sara Jane Strickland Rabon and the late Mack Strickland.  In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Strickland is predeceased by two brothers: Johnny Strickland and Mack Strickland Jr.; and one brother-in-law: Robert Christmas.  Mr. Strickland was a Veteran of the US Army 1st Infantry during the Vietnam War were he later received the prestigious honor of The Purple Heart.   He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.  Surviving Mr. Strickland is one son: Kenneth Strickland (Angie) of Nichols; one daughter: Michelle Skipper (Jamie Huggins) of Loris; one sister: Bonnie Christmas of Nichols; two grandchildren: Cody Strickland (Hope), Bayley Wilson; two great-grandchildren: Kameron Strickland and Sadie Strickland; and his special cousins: Jennifer Graham and Joanne Bell.  The family would like to thank Coastal Cancer Center for all their care and help.  Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor from 6 – 8 PM.
