March 31, 1941 – July 25, 2024
Mrs. Doris Faye Owens, age 83, of Aynor passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Conway Medical Center. Mrs. Owens was the wife of the late Thomas C. Owens and the daughter of the late John and Bessie Hyatt Hyman. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by two grandsons: Bradley Squires and Christpher Holden; four brothers: Louise Hyman, Eb Hyman, John Hyman, and Earl Hyman; and four sisters: Agnes Leon, Mildred Jackson, Ernestine Powell, and Lois Anne Fiedler. Mrs. Owens was a member of Conway Church of God where she loved serving and loving her Lord and Savior. She was a very loving, devoted mother, grandmother, Bayma, sister, and friend. Everyone Mrs. Doris met, she would find a way to compliment them and tell them how much she loved her family. She had a passion and love for red birds. To her, red birds was a connection to her loved ones that had gone on before her. Mrs. Doris also had a passion for working in her yard and with flowers. Surviving Mrs. Doris is two daughters: Renee Squires (Dean) and Teresa Holden (Timmy); one step son: Jamie Strickland; seven grandchildren: Kasey Hucks (Jason), Lindsey Bunker (Adam), Codey Squires (Brooke), Nicholas Holden (Sonni), Justin Holden (Trena), Landon Bucker, and Brett Bunker; nine great grandchildren: Christian Holden, Blaise Hucks, Cayden Hucks, Adiline Larrimore, Eli Holden, Braylee Squires, Madison Holden, Wade Holden, Owen Squires; and two sisters: Shelby Fiedler and Ella Mae Walters. A visitation for Mrs. Owens will be held from 4-6 PM Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, July 29, 2024 at Conway Church of God with Rev. Stuart Jacobs and Rev. Marty Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Trolly Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Gideon Camp of Aynor PO Box 98, Aynor, SC 29511.
