Dorothy Jane Rabon's Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Jane Alford Rabon, 91 of Tolar Road, has rejoined her husband of 63 years. After a nine year absence, they now reside in their heavenly home as of Wednesday, August 16, after several years of her declining health. Mrs. Rabon was born September 27, 1925, the daughter of the late Howard H. Alford and Claudia Bell Alford. She was predeceased by her six brothers. Tracy, Laverne, Dolphus, Lenneau, Lacy and A. M. She was known for her cakes her precisely cut collard greens, and her hand rolled thin pastry. She loved children, enjoyed fellowship with friends and family. She loved her yard full of azaleas. Up until her health declined, she always cared for her chickens and loved gathering the eggs. No one ever left her house without being given eggs or some of her home canned goods. She visited the sick always with cake in hand. Her first job was as a receptionist at the old Conway Hospital. After that time, she helped build and worked alongside of her husband in the family business Rabon's Auto Parts and Garage which they started 68 years ago. She was a faithful member of Aynor First Baptist Church for 68 years. She was a Sunday School teacher for thirty-two years and a member of the WMU. Even as her physical and mental health declined, she read her Bible daily. Surviving are her five blessed children, Larry Rabon(Sarah), Denny Carl Rabon(Brenda)Erroll Rabon (Vicki)Clarissia R. Hardwick(Dean) all of Aynor, Renita R. Chestnut(Cliff)of Longs. As well as her heart adopted children Ramona Crowe of Aynor, and Kim Singleton of Conway; her grandchildren, Tabitha R.
