Obituary

Fred Allen of Marion, South Carolina, passed away on October 5, 2026, at age 70. He will be remembered for his warm smile, generous heart, incredible energy, and willingness to help anyone who needed a hand. In recent years, he cherished the blessing of reconnecting with his family and being home again. Those relationships became deeply meaningful to him, and he treasured the time he could share with the people he loved. Freddie, as he was known, had a heart for helping others. If someone was working on a project or had a job to do, he was quick to lend a hand. He loved to work and seemed to always have the energy to take on one more task. Whether her was helping a friend, serving someone in need, or simply spending time with those around him, he found joy in being useful and being there for others. His faith was an important part of his life. He knew Jesus and loved his church family, finding fellowship and friendship among those who shared his faith. His love for the Lord and the people around him showed in how he cared for others. Those who knew Freddie will remember him as a man who was almost always smiling, ready to work, ready to help, and ready to share his time and energy with others. He had a big heart, and he gave freely of himself to the people around him. Above all, he leaves behind the woman he loved dearly, his wife of 17 years, Charlene. She was his companion, his travel partner, and the person with whom he shared so many of life’s special moments. He treasured their time together and the life they had built side by side. Their love was a gift he cherished deeply, and his family takes comfort in knowing how much they loved and enjoyed one another. He also leaves behind family, his church family, and many dear friends who will forever remember his smile, his generous spirit, and his willingness to help anyone in need. His family is grateful for the years they had with him, the memories they made, and the love he shared so freely. Though he will be deeply missed, they take comfort in knowing that because he knew Jesus, they have the hope of seeing him again. The family will have a Celebration of Life service on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the residence of Sara Hardwick, 4312 Joyner Swamp Road, Galivants Ferry, SC 29544. The family has requested no flowers; please make donations to Berea Baptist Church, 4287 Joyner Swamp Road, Galivants Ferry, SC 29544. 1 Timothy 4:7-8: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
