KERSHAW, SC – Mr. George Alvin Lucas, age 67, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at his home. He was born October 25, 1957, in Lancaster, SC, a son of the late Clyde Delbert Lucas and the late Barbara Blanton Lucas and was the loving husband of Dora Jane Cook Lucas. Alvin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly and was truly a family man through and through. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard, hunting, fishing, and riding the four-wheeler.

Alvin is survived by his wife of 47 years; Dora Jane Cook Lucas; his daughter, Paula Brazell (Ken); his two sons, Michael Lucas (Libby Sloan), and James Lucas; four grandchildren, Chandler Brazell (Natalie), Mica Lucas, Ashton Lucas, and Carson Brazell; his brother, Wayne Lucas (Becky); his two sisters, Darlene Hobbs (George), and Lisa Bledsoe; and three very special family friends, Steve Wallace, Dale Robertson, and David Short.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Lucas and Barbara Henry (Ralph), and his sister, Claudia Faye Lucas.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Alvin will be 3:00 pm Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Antioch Baptist Church, located at 1734 Antioch Church Road Lancaster, SC 29729, with the Dr. Trent McLaughlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Burial will follow 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Happy Home Baptist Church Cemetery, 2866 Nichols Hwy, Galivants Ferry, SC 29544.
