Mrs. Gloria C. Dix, age 71, of Surfside Beach passed away June 30, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  Mrs. Dix was born July 9, 1948, a daughter of the late Walter and Frances Morgan Cato.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dix was predeceased by one daughter, Tina Allison Dix, and one brother, George Cato.  She enjoyed being outdoors gardening, going to car shows, watching Nascar, and especially spending time with her grandchildren at dance recitals and playing baseball.  Mrs. Dix is survived by her husband, Weston Dix of the home, one daughter, Stephanie Johnson (Arnold) of Georgetown, three grandchildren, Bryce Newton, Madison Johnson, Luke Johnson, one brother, Walter L. Cato Jr. (Ingrid) of Germany, two sisters, Frances Cato Snelgrove (John) of Clinton, and Pauline C. Simmons of Laurens.  Graveside services for Mrs. Dix will be held 10:00 AM Friday, July 3, 2020 at Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Herrington officiating.  Please remember to take social distancing recommendation into consideration.
