Mr. Gordon Lee Spurgeon, age 67, passed away January 7, 2020 unexpectedly while on vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Mr. Spurgeon was born March 7, 1952, a son of the late Gene and Joyce Lay Spurgeon.  He retired from Wolverine Brass after 30 years of service.  Mr. Spurgeon is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gail Denise Spurgeon, three sons, Jason Spurgeon, Dr. James Spurgeon, Caleb Spurgeon, three daughters, Lori Lawrence, Jennifer Dodson, Chelsea (Josh) Guthrie, one step son, Craig (Brittany) Cannon, one sister, Charlotte Lassiter, and fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, January 16, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00-2:45 PM.
