Ms. Helen “Lib” Johnson Holden, age 84, passed away June 17, 2026, following an extended illness. Ms. Lib was born on March 23, 1942, a daughter of the late Rev. Thory and Irene Benton Johnson Norton. In addition to her parents, Ms. Lib was also predeceased by three sisters: Shelby Jean Hucks, Kay Cannon, and Geneva Hilburn; and one stepbrother: Billy Joe Norton. Ms. Lib was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. She retired from AVX after 40 years of service and enjoyed being outside in the garden and flower beds. She is survived by one daughter, Renee Lane; one granddaughter, Nickey Richardson; two great-grandchildren: Hunter and Peyton Richardson; four brothers: James Johnson, Lamar Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Joe Johnson; two stepbrothers: Cecil Norton and Roger Dale Norton; and two sisters: Sara Hardwick and Mary Allen. Graveside services for Ms. Lib will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Happy Home Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jon Johnson and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.
