Mr. James "Alfred" Goff, age 74, passed away September 23, 2023, at Grand Strand Medical Center following an extended illness. Alfred was born July 6, 1949, a son of the late Eddie Rochell Goff Sr. and Doreatha Tyler Goff. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers: Lester and Leamon Goff and three sisters: Wilma Casitty, Jeanette Johnson and Irma Jean Gerrald. Mr. Alfred was a disabled veteran of the United States Army. He loved to dance and was proud of his military service. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and loved his church and church family dearly. Mr. Alfred is survived by two sons: James Alfred Goff Jr. and John Goff; one daughter: Tessa Shelley (Ryan); five grandchildren: Rylee Goff, Bailee Goff, Natalee Goff, Chloe Shelley, Ethan Shelley; two brothers: Eddie Goff and Herman Goff; one sister: Ann Roberts; a special friend: Carol Walters and many nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank the Ralph A. Johnson VA Hospital for their many years of healthcare that they have provided. Funeral services for Mr. Alfred will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Conner officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00-2:45 PM. Burial will follow at Berea Baptist Church. Memorials can be made to the Disabled American Veterans, www.help.dav.org.
