Mr. James "Joe" Parler, age 83, passed away April 30, 2025, at Embrace Hospice of South Carolina.  Mr. Parler was born July 26, 1941, a son of the late Thomas Harry and Mary Locke Blackwell Parler. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parler was also predeceased by one son: Joey Parler. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was also a member of the choir. Mr. Parler retired from Aynor High School where he taught school for 32 years. He was a founding member of the Theatre of the Republic in Conway, SC and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Parler is survived by his loving wife: Saundra Lockhart Parler; one daughter: Mary Parler Clark; two grandchildren: John R. Clark (Jessica Olin) and James W. Clark (Denise Clark); two great grandchildren: Eleanor and Joseph Clark; and one sister: Beverly Ford. Visitation for Mr. Parler will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM Friday, May 2, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Trintiy United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill McCown and Rev. Mel Arant officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
