The family of Joan Lucille Haney is sad to announce her passing on January 29, 2026, at the age of 93. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Olive and William. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Jeri and Catherine, her husband, Lawrence "Bunky" Haney, and her daughters, Cynthia Wilson (Darryl) and Diane Herman (George). She also missed her little buddy Samson, who had been her devoted Chihuahua. Joan took much pride in her family and the various jobs she held through the years. She worked at Westinghouse, White Hall Inn, and O'Laughlin's, just to name a few. She had fond memories of all those places and would regale family and friends with stories of her time spent there. Joan was born in Baltimore, MD, in 1932. She was a lifelong Maryland resident until she moved to South Carolina to be cared for by her son, Lawrence "Larry," and his wife, Bridgette, several months before her passing. Joan is survived by her daughter, Barbara Carnes (Walter); sons, Lawrence Haney (Bridgette) and Bryan Haney; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Joan was especially close to her granddaughters, Nikki and Lisa, who doted on their grandmom. She is forever loved and will be missed eternally. Her family takes comfort knowing she has now been reunited with her "Bunky," whom she remained faithful to for 45 years after his passing. There will be a private service for Mrs. Joan Haney at a later date.
