July 28, 1939 – February 19, 2015
Mr. John I. Blevins, age 75 of Rock Lane passed away February 19, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side. Mr. Blevins was born July 28, 1939 a son of the late James Alvin Lee Blevins and the late Mamie Adline Blevins. Mr. Blevins was predeceased by four brothers, Jack, Douglas, Juinor, and Cecil Blevins, and one sister, Irene Gullion. He was a veteran of the United Air Force and served as a Little League baseball coach in Princeton, West Virginia from 1986-1996. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mrs. Annette Blevins of the home are three sons, Jason Blevins of Galivants Ferry, SC, and Tony and Richy Smith, both of Heath Springs, SC, three daughters, Ashley Blevins Green (Rick) of Bluefield, West Virginia, Cristy Todd (Tim), of Lancaster, SC, Leah Smith Campbell (Benny), of Galivants Ferry, SC, four sisters, Geraldine Lyle, of Lashmeet, West Virginia, Pauline White (Richard), of Princeton, West Virginia, Mary Akers (Steven) of Princeton, West Virginia, Genevie Blevins, of Roanoke, West Virginia, five very special friends, Wesley Price, of Salem, Virginia, Dean and Ricky Rutludge both of New Mexico, Evelyn Davis, of Bluefield, West Virginia, Sue Torik of Murrells Inlet, 12 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and numerous nephews and nieces.
LOCAL FUNERAL SERVICESLocal funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday February 22, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alfred Cockfield officiating.
VISITATIONVisitation will be held one hour before the service from 3:00-4:00PM Sunday.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL ALSO BE HELD IN PRINCETON, WEST VIRGINIAMr. Blevins will also have a visitation from 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton, West Virginia. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
MEMORIALSIn lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mr. Blevins memory to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
