John D. Cartrette

John D. Cartrette, age 73, passed away on September 30, 2026, at McLeod Seacoast in Little River with his loving family by his side. Mr. John was born April 2, 1953, the son of the late Thornie B. and Frances Hardee Cartrette. In addition to his parents, Mr. John was also predeceased by one sister: Viola Cartrette. Mr. John was a member of Berea Baptist Church, where he loved the Lord and his church. He enjoyed working in his yard and going fishing. Mr. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, “Poppy,” and friend. He is survived by his loving wife: Mrs. Deborah Cartrette; two daughters: Marcia Todd (Robert) and Janet Reid (Chad); one son: Jonathan Cartrette (Crickett); six grandchildren: Cotes Reid, Lyndi Reid, Ret Todd, Morgan Todd, River Cartrette and Daisy Cartrette; two brothers: Howard “Bud” Cartrette (Louise) and Terry B. Cartrette (Saundra); and three sisters: Brittie Johnson, Sara Ward, and Dorothy “Nanny” Hucks. A memorial service for Mr. John will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Ragsdale Allsbrook officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, you can make memorials in memory of Mr. John D.
