Mr. Joseph Edward Carmody age 86, passed away January 7, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Mr. Carmody was born June 21, 1929 in Dowagiac, Michigan a son of the late Gerald Hugh and Jenny Crosby Carmody. He was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Patrick Carmody. Mr. Carmody retired from the United States Navy after 23 years of service to his country. He was a current member of St. James Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Before retiring Mr. Carmody served the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston in many capacities. In addition to his wife, Mrs. Juanita Collins Carmody, Mr. Carmody is survived by one son, Thomas Carmody (Rebecca) of Fredericksburg, Va., two daughters, Dona Feador of Coral Gables, Fla., Theresa Cusaac (Carl) of Aynor, SC, one brother, Maurice Carmody of Palos Heights, IL., three, sisters, Margaret Casey of Sun City, Az., Sally Moser of Grand Haven, MI., Gerry Farrar of Whitehall, MI., nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

FUNERAL MASS

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Summerville, SC.

BURIAL

Burial with full military rights will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens.

VISITATION

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
