Lessie Rabon Hardwick, 89, of Galivants Ferry passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2016 surrounded by her family. Born October 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Eula Johnson Rabon and Sam McKinley (Bud) Rabon. She was married to Ernest Hardwick, Sr. for almost 40 years before his death in 1985. She was a devoted and loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of Berea Baptist Church throughout her life and a member of the adult choir. She loved her church and church family and was a faithful servant to our Lord and Savior. She enjoyed her life's work on the family farm and was a talented seamstress and craft painter. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and other crafts during her lifetime. She took pride in her family and loved ones and was survived by four children – Douglas Hardwick (Lynette), Martha Ann Norris (George), Diane Byars (Don) and Ernest Hardwick, Jr. (Janice); six grandchildren - Angela Hardwick Bannister (Grady), Marsha Hardwick Morris (Derrick), Blake Byars (Sunny), Peyton Byars, Joshua Hardwick (Kelly) and Katie Hardwick Fox (Andrew); 11 great grandchildren and many special sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other family and friends who will miss her deeply. The family would like to thank Lower Cape Fear/Mercy Hospice for their care and support and also her caregivers over the last few months - Shelby Seals and Myra Williams.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Funeral services will be held 4:00PM Friday September 2, 2016 at Berea Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Jenerette officiating.
BURIAL
Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall.
MEMORIALS
Memorials may be made to Berea Baptist Church Building Fund; 4287 Joyner Swamp Rd; Galivants Ferry, SC 29544. Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor is handling the services.
