Mr. James Lester Alford, age 84, of Conway passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Grand Strand Medical Center.  Mr. Lester was the husband of the late Betty J. Alford and son of the late Archie and Sally Johnson Alford.  In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Alford was predeceased by three brothers: Leamon, Billy Elbert, and Jessie Alford; and two sisters: Evelyn Page and Elma Jane Johnson.  Mr. Alford attended Valley Forge Baptist Church.  He loved being outdoors working in his yard and gardening.  Mr. Lester was very devoted to and loved his family.  Mr. Lester is survived by one brother: Wayne Alford (Frances); sister-in-law's: Elizabeth Alford and Ann Alford; many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family, including a very special nephew and caretaker, Bobby and Linda Alford.  A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Bayboro Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Baker officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery.
