Marvin Elton Johnson's Obituary

Mr. Marvin "Elton" Johnson, age 79 of Galivants Ferry passed away August 30, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Johnson was born August 9, 1938 to the late Mary Willie Johnson and the late Thomas Adam Graham a foster son to the late Essie Pauline Graham and step son to the late John Truluck Johnson. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Miles Graham, Douglas Johnson, Bonnie F. Deloach, Cornie B. Rogers, Grace Meredith, Judy Dudley, and one great grandson, Sawyer Graham Costin. He worked with the South Carolina Tobacco Cooperative for 22 years, and was a farmer and avid hunter. Mr. Johnson is survived by three daughters, Lavanda K. Johnson, of Galivants Ferry, Lorie Ann Anderson (Will), Essie J. Lammers (David), all of Aynor, a special companion and friend, Ms. Annabelle R. Montgomery, eight grandchildren, Jarrod Jones (Brynn), Devan Shelley (Clint), Russell Ann Jones, Tyler Jones (Leigh Anne) all of Aynor, Amanda Staples (Chris) of Galivants Ferry, Matthew Williams (Amanda) of Fort Rucker, Al., Hillary Costin (Justin) of Aynor, Mary Hannah Lammers of Conway, ten great grandchildren, his sisters, Lavonia Mae Strickland of Columbia, Janette Ivey of Galivants Ferry, and a special niece, Bonita Hinson.

FUNERAL SERVICE

Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Friday September 1, 2017 at Berea Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Jenerette and Rendel Mincey officiating.

BURIAL

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

VISITATION

Visitation will be held from 4:00-4:45 PM prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
