Mary Elizabeth Altman, 85, returned to her Lord and Savior on December 18, 2023.  She was born June 11, 1938, the daughter of the late Alex and Ruby Alford in Horry County.  She was the widow of Marvin R. Altman and a loving mother and grandmother.  Mrs. Mary was a member of Gethsemane Freewill Baptist of the Pentecostal Faith Church.  She was predeceased by her two son Rex and Dudley Altman; grandson Chris Grimm; and siblings Nora Hyman, James Alford, and Hubert Alford.  She leaves behind a daughter: Jo Ann Altman; two sons: Harlan Altman (Jo Ann) and Dale Altman (Kim); seven grandchildren: Jonathan Altman (Crystal), Josh Altman, Beth Rye (Jay), Kelly Parker, Dustin Altman (Melina), Shane Altman (Sabrina), and Jordan Altman (Gracie); eleven great grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; two sisters: Naomi Gunter and Nell Todd; two brothers: Jerry Alford and David Alford.  She will be remembered for her love for God, her faithfulness to her church and her love for her family.  A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Rehobeth Baptist Church with the Rev.
