Obituary

It is with hearts filled with both sorrow and hope that the family of Nancy C. Harris announces that she entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 1, 2026, at the age of 73.

Born in Robeson County, North Carolina, Nancy later moved to Philadelphia as a young girl, where she would spend much of her life building a legacy defined not by personal achievement, but by steadfast faith, sacrificial love, and unwavering trust in God.

If there was one truth that shaped every part of her life, it was this: Life is hard, but God is faithful.

Nancy believed with all her heart that the promises of God could be trusted because the God who made them is forever faithful. Whether celebrating life's joys or walking through seasons of suffering, her response was remarkably consistent. She would smile and gently remind those around her, "Look at God," or reassure them with the words, "God is going to work it all out."

Her confidence was never rooted in circumstances. It was rooted in Christ.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, an adoring grandmother, a faithful daughter, a cherished sister, a trusted aunt, and a loyal friend. She possessed a remarkable ability to make people feel like they belonged. Whether someone had known her for twenty years or only a few months, they quickly discovered there was always room at her table, always time for a conversation, always a listening ear, and always encouragement rooted in the promises of God. Many who were not related by blood came to feel like members of her family simply because she loved them so well.

She is survived by her beloved husband, John, with whom she built a home marked by hospitality, faith, laughter, and love. Together they created a family that extended far beyond blood relatives, welcoming countless friends into their lives as though they had always belonged. She is also survived by her loving children, Jason (Claudia) and Janet (Roger); cherished grandchildren, Nathan (Brittany), Aaron, and Benjamin; beloved sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were forever shaped by her love and encouragement.

While her family grieves deeply, they do not grieve without hope. Nancy placed her trust completely in Jesus Christ, believing that His death and resurrection secured the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life for all who trust in Him. The Savior she loved so faithfully throughout her life has now welcomed her home, where faith has become sight.

Mrs. Harris's family will hold a celebration of her life on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 6:30 pm, at Bethany Bible Chapel, located at 1668 Four Mile Rd. Conway, SC 29526. A second celebration of life will be held at Evangel Assembly of God, Norristown, PA, at a date yet to be determined.

The family asks that those who remember her honor her legacy in the way she would have wanted most: trust the Lord, encourage someone who is struggling, make room for one more person at your table, and never forget the truth that anchored her entire life—Life is hard. But God is faithful.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy's memory may be made to Bethany Bible Chapel, 1668 Four Mile Road, Conway, SC 29526.
