Mrs. Ramona Barnhill Lehto, age 54, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Lehto was the wife of Mr. John Lehto, Jr., and the daughter of Mike and Debra Hucks Barnhill. She is predeceased by her stepfather-in-law, Sammy Brooks Stephenson, and her father-in-law, John R. Lehto, Sr. Mrs. (Coach) Lehto retired from Horry County Schools after 30 years of service, during which she taught and coached basketball, softball, and soccer. Coach Lehto graduated from Aynor High School in 1989 and was later inducted into the Aynor High School Hall of Fame for softball. Her biggest and number 1 pride and joy was her daughter Gracie. She loved her unconditionally, as well as her entire family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, aunt, and coach. She loved the Clemson Tigers as well as her many students who had the privilege of being taught by her. Surviving Mrs. Lehto is her husband, John Lehto, Jr.; one daughter, Gracie Lehto; parents, Mike and Debra Barnhill; one sister, Mandy Hardwick (Sammy); nieces, Caitlin Tindal (Devin) and Sydney Hardwick (Hampton); two great nieces, Blakely and Emma Tindall; one great nephew, Kaiden Tindal; and her mother-in-law, Bonnie Stephenson. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dustin Hawkins, Pastor John Morello, and Rev. Clara Denise Curry officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church.
