Mr. Ray Owens, age 54, of Galivants Ferry passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital following an extended illness.  Mr. Ray was the son of Judy Stroud Owens and the late Carroll Ray Owens Sr.   Mr. Ray attended Gethsemane Baptist Church where he loved hearing the youth sing.  He was employed with UPS for 32 years.  Mr. Ray was a loving husband, father and converted Gamecock fan.  He enjoyed being outdoors, his animals, college football, and was a Disney enthusiast.   Surviving Mr. Ray is his wife, Pamela Shroup Owens; one son: Jake Owens (Savannah Gerrald); one sister: Ann Ihrie (Chris); cousins: Rita Hardwick, Randy Owens, Sally Poston, Mike Poston, and Kelly Frye; and three nieces: Megan, Kristen, and Ansley.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 – 10:45 AM, October 28, 2025, at Gethsemane Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Billy Phillips and Rev. Benji Hutson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Mr. Ray Owens to Gethsemane Baptist Church Youth at 4461 Nichols Hwy Galivants Ferry, SC 29544
