Mrs. Sadie R. Smith, age 80, wife of the late Donald Smith passed away at her home December 21, 2019 with her loving family by her side.  Mrs. Smith was born August 26, 1939 a daughter of the late Emerson and Lou Strickland Hooks.  She was also predeceased by two brothers, Jack and Pete Hooks, and three sisters, Lonie Mincey, Berline Mincey, and Peggy Graham.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Mrs. Smith was a member of Salem Baptist Church and retired from Conway Hospital Administrative Office after 27 years of service.  Mrs. Smith is survived by one son, Charles (Kerrie Ann) Smith, two daughters, Rhonda (Maxie) Carmichael, Karen (Jeffrey) Singleton, five grandchildren, Chad (Bobbi) Carmichael, Kalie (Joe) Brown, Alex Carmichael, Kimberly Smith, Kara Singleton, two great grandchildren, Blakely Carmichael, Mabry Carmichael, and many loving nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Sadie's funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Monday December 23, 2019 at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Herrington and Rev. Dean Connor officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00-11:45 AM prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
