January 31, 1947 – August 11, 2024
Mr. Truman "Big Guy" Johnson, age 77, husband of the late Julie Johnson passed away August 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the Patriarch of his family. Mr. Truman was an avid outdoorsman, master fisherman and hunter. He could always be found following his grandchildren watching them playing softball, volleyball, chorus and the orchestra. He loved music, playing the guitar, being at the river and was a full-blooded Republican. In addition to his wife Julie, he was also predeceased by his parents: Rev. William Truluck Johnson and Katherine Palmer Merryman; one brother: Cecil E. Johnson; and one sister-in-law: Renee Johnson. He is survived by a daughter: Paulette Johnson (Robert); one son: Rett Johnson (Heather); three grandchildren: Conner Everrett Johnson, Maddie Grace Johnson and Macy Grier Johnson; two brothers: Samuel T. Johnson Sr. (Mary) and Bruce Johnson; three sisters: Shirley Cayton (Jack), Patricia Colite (Gary) and Ginger Squires (Rodney); and one sister-in-law: Teresa Johnson. Visitation for Mr. Truman will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM at Happy Home Baptist Church with the Rev.
