Walter Thomas Johnson's Obituary

Mr. Walter Thomas Johnson, age 70 of Barnhill Road passed away May 5, 2017 at his mother's residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Johnson was born November 7, 1946 a son of Mrs. Patsy Loreen Johnson and the late Dennis F. Johnson. He was predeceased by one sister, Janice Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a United States Army Veteran where he served as a Military Policeman and in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Army he worked at J. Ruben Long Detention Center and retired as Director from the Marion County Detention Center. He is survived by one son, Chris Johnson and his wife Tina, of Galivants Ferry, one brother, Frank Johnson of Galivants Ferry, four sisters, Dennis Morris of Galivants Ferry, Connie Elliott of Nichols, Patsy Turner of Galivants Ferry, Cora Barnhill of Galivants Ferry, and two grandchildren, Haven and Noah Johnson.

FUNERAL SERVICE

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Monday May 8, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor with the Rev. Timmy Hodge officiating.

VISITATION

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home.

BURIAL

Burial will follow at Rehoboth United Methodist Church Cemetery.
