Yvonne (Allen) Kay, age 80, passed away January 3, 2017 at her residence in Galivants Ferry, SC. Mrs. Kay was born January 4, 1936 a daughter of the late Jasper Lennis and Eitha Nola (Graham) Allen. She married Mr. John Kay on June 14, 1955. While he served in the United Air Force, they traveled to Indiana, South Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Arkansas, and back to Indiana before returning to Horry in 2000. Mrs. Kay is survived by her husband John, two children, Joyce Reagan (Rick) and John Kay Jr. (June), grandchildren, John Robert Kay, Kelly Peterson (James), step grandchildren, Derrick, Timothy, and Ricky Reagan Jr., great grandchildren, Carter and Harper Peterson, step great grandchildren, Preston Houmes and Serenity Reagan, two brothers, Quince Allen and J.E. Allen, and six sisters, Catherine Hardwick, Velma Page (James), Gertrude Smith, Barbara Smith (Buddy), Betty Elvis, Evelyn McDonald, and Erline Hardwick (Wayne). In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kay was predeceased by one brother, Hamp Allen, and two sisters, Elma Turner and Nellie "Dora" Johnson. She loved working in her yard, the time she spent as a home health aide, and working at Nye's Pharmacy before her marriage. She was also active in the Newton County Historical Society before leaving Indiana and was past president for one term.

FUNERAL SERVICE

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday January 6, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Weidman officiating.

BURIAL

Burial will follow at Happy Home Baptist Church Cemetery.

VISITATION

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-1:45PM.
