Brenda H Graham

Mrs. Brenda H. Graham, age 76, passed away Thursday April 2, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Born July 12, 1943 in Galivants Ferry, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lupert Holden and the late Isla Holden Shelley.  She was also the step-daughter of the late Spencer Shelley.  Mrs. Graham was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church and served in numerous areas of the ministry throughout her life.  She enjoyed her family and her home life and was ever so proud of her three precious grandsons who could never do any wrong in her eyes.  Mrs. Graham was a hairdresser for over 50 years and loved her clients dearly.  She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors.  She shared the fruit of her labor and love, expecting nothing in return. Lovingly referred to as “Gaga” by her grandsons, she was known throughout her life for the work she did with her hands. From needlepoint, homemade quilts, tending to her daylily garden, her famous red velvet cakes, handmade sequined Christmas ornaments, to curling hair; her labor of love exemplified the outpouring of her heart.  Along with her parents, Mrs. Graham was predeceased by her brothers, Autry Holden and Donald Holden.  Mrs. Graham is survived by her husband of 56 years, Freddie H. Graham;  their children, Christi Caroline Graham (Wendell Peavy), Cheri Graham Lewis (Mike); grandchildren, Luke Graham (Carson Faye Raedels), Spencer Lewis, Ben Lewis; her brother, Graham Holden (Lib);her sister-in-laws, Peggy Graham Holmes, Lynda M. Graham, Becky T. Graham, Evelyn Holden; and numerous nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank Lisa Vereen Dozier for the tender loving care that she provided to Mrs. Graham in her last few months of life as well as to so many others who provided meals, care packages, gifts, and support for the family during their time of need.  An outdoor celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday April 5, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Connor and Rev. Gordon Graham officiating.  A private burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Due to the CDC recommendations that are set forth at this time, the family has asked that everyone please remain in your cars during the celebration.  The hearts of the family are broken that they cannot share their loss more intimately with everyone at this time.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 2080 Hwy 129 Galivants Ferry, SC 29544.  During this time, Johnson Funeral Home would like to encourage you to sign our online guestbook and leave your words of encouragement for the family.
