Carl Francis Johnson

Mr. Carl Francis Johnson, age 80, passed away March 23, 2022, at McLeod Loris Hospital. Mr. Francis was predeceased by his Aunt Sara Johnson that cared for him over the last forty years. He was also preceded in death by his Uncle George and Uncle David Johnson; his Aunt Annie Bell Barr; and two cousins: Randall Johnson and Rita Hughes. Mr. Francis was a member of Mt. Ariel Freewill Baptist Church. He was employed with Shoney’s Restaurant for over 30 years and was the Shoney’s Bear for many years in the parades. He was a simple person that his only desire was to help others and he enjoyed using his hand made talent creating rugs and chair weaving. Mr. Francis is survived by his cousins: Mike Johnson (Linda), and Diane Anderson (John); and many distant cousins. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, March 26, 2022, at Mt. Ariel Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Skipper and Rev. Jon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends following the service.
