Mr. Samuel W. McKenith, age 89, of Aynor went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at his residence. Born in Loris, SC, Mr. McKenith was the husband of Beatrice High McKenith and son of the late James B. McKenith Sr. and the late Ethel Davis McKenith. Mr. Samuel worked as a mechanic with Hague Marine and was a member of St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Cool Springs, SC. He loved working on boats, fishing, cutting grass, and riding/racing motorcycles and cars. In addition to his wife, surviving Mr. McKenith are five daughters: Kimberly Collins of Hampton, Virginia, Jennifer Carrie Jackson of Aynor, SC, Tina Harris-Johnson of Conway, SC, Latisha Harris of North Charleston, SC, and Latoshia Gilmore of Waynesboro, Ga; one son: Samuel McKenith Jr. of New Jersey; one sister: Helen Anderson of New Jersey; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; special friends: Tony Gerrald, Wayne Vereen, Bobby High, Hattie Fore, Charles Fore, and many others. Mr. Samuel is predeceased by his parents, siblings, and one daughter, Minnie Rose. Visitation for Mr. Samuel McKenith will be held from 6 – 8 PM Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, November 17, 2023 at St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Edward Soles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
